How to Sell Gift Cards on Squarespace: The Easy Setup Guide
If you're looking for a birthday, graduation, or wedding gift for someone but don't know what to buy them, a gift card is always a smart idea.
And the great thing is, you can sell gift cards on your Squarespace e-commerce store.
How do gift cards work on Squarespace? Shoppers can buy a gift card like they would any other product.
Your store then sends an email with a unique gift card code to your customer or recipient, which they can claim at checkout.

How to sell gift cards on Squarespace
Step 1: Go to your online store
Go to your Pages menu and click on your Store – this has a shopping cart icon in front of it.
If you don't have a store, you can create one by clicking the Plus (+) button and choosing Store.
Step 2: Add a gift card
When you're in your store, click the Plus (+) button in the menu on the left-hand side of the page to add a new product. Choose Gift card in the menu in the center of the screen.
In the product menu that appears, add your details:
Product name: The name of your gift card that will show on your product page
Description: A description for your gift card that will show on your product page
Additional information: Add additional information for your gift card, like a longer description or a video
Images: Add an image for your gift card
Inventory: Add values and SKUs for your gift card. You can have as many values as you need, but bear in mind that customers can't enter custom values for their gift card
Organization: Add categories and tags to your gift card
Selling tools: Showcase related products on your product page, and enable reviews
Marketing: Change the URL and add an SEO title and description to your product page
Checkout: Customize the 'add to cart button text'
When you're done, click the black SAVE button to save and hide your gift card product page.
If you want to make it go live, hover over the button and click PUBLISH. You can also SCHEDULE it to go live at a set date and time.
To edit your gift card, hover over the gift card, select the three dots (…) and choose EDIT.
When customers buy a gift card, they can add a recipient's name and email, and supply a short message during checkout.
Step 3: Edit the email
Squarespace has a default email template that is sent to customers who order a gift card.
To amend this, click on the cog at the bottom of the menu on the left-hand side of the page to access settings.
Choose Customer Notifications from the menu and choose Gift Cards.
Here you can amend the template sent to customers when they order a gift card, and when their gift card is canceled. Click the EDIT EMAIL button to make changes.
