How to Create a LinkTree Alternative Using Squarespace (2025)
Many people use platforms like LinkTree to create a landing page on their social media platforms where they can share multiple links.
However LinkTree does have a lot of disadvantages. Not only are there limited customization options, but you’re sending traffic to LinkTree rather than your own site.
A cool alternative is to use your own Squarespace site to host a landing page for social media. That way, you can style it how you like, and you’re driving traffic to your website!
Here’s how to create a Squarespace LinkTree page for your social media visitors.
Build a Squarespace LinkTree alternative page in 3 easy steps
Step 1: Create a page
Go to Pages and under Not Linked, click the plus sign (+) to create a page. Choose Blank Page.
Give your new page a short and simple name that represents your business – you want it to make sense to customers when they see it on your social media profiles.
Step 2: Hide your header and footer
Next, we’re going to hide the header and footer on the page – this will keep your Squarespace LinkTree page simple, clean, and clear of distractions.
Click on the cog next to your page to go to Settings and under Navigation, click the toggle next to Show Header and Show Footer to turn them off.
Click Close when you’re done.
(Of course, you can hide your header and footer using custom code if you prefer – this guide will show you how!)
Step 3: Add your content
Now the fun part! Your page should use Fluid Engine, which will make it easy to move different elements around your page and ensure they’re aligned.
You can add:
Your logo and a bit of blurb about what you do
Links to your social media profiles
Buttons linking to your website
A map to your business
Images and videos
An email address or contact form for customers to get in touch.
Keep your page simple – while you might be tempted to add everything to it, it’s vital that it’s easy to read and looks good on mobile.
Here’s an example of something we whipped up in five minutes.
When you’re done SAVE your page and test it on mobile to make sure you’re happy with it. You can then add it to your social media profiles.
Are there any other LinkTree alternatives out there?
If you don’t want to use LinkTree but don’t have the time or skills to build a page on your website, then why not consider Bio Sites?
Bio Sites is a similar concept to LinkTree but it is owned by Squarespace, meaning it integrates seamlessly with your website.
Plus, it’s more customizable – you can add images, video, and audio, and embed social media posts.
Now you know how to easily create a Squarespace LinkTree alternative – why not give it a try?
